Access control for businesses

UTPinfra installs and maintains access control for businesses and larger organisations. Card readers, tags and video intercom connect to the company network.

Card readers, tags and intercom

A door or gate opens with a card, tag or code. Visitors use an intercom or video intercom. You see who is there and decide whether the door opens. That is access control for a company building, a site, or an organisation with several entrances.

UTPinfra installs and maintains these systems for SMEs and larger organisations. Contractors and installers can subcontract the work. We do not do this for consumers or a home office.

Connected to the network

Readers and the intercom sit on the company network. Many devices get data and power over one network cable (PoE). We install that data cabling ourselves, with a patch cabinet and labelling, so the doors do not depend on a separate installer.

CCTV can use the same infrastructure. At the distribution centre in Zevenaar, Ubiquiti Access is on the same network as the cabling, Wi-Fi and cameras. That project is written up as Fulfilment Achterhoek.

UniFi Access

UTPinfra is an official UniFi / Ubiquiti supplier. UniFi Access fits when the network, the cameras and the doors should be managed in one place. Readers, doors and users then sit together.

Where another system suits the doors or the existing installation better, we use that. For the intercom we work with UniFi Access and Hikvision, among others. The choice depends on the building and on what is already there.

Installation and maintenance

We start on site. How many doors and gates are there, who may grant access, and is there already cabling or a lock? Then we mount, configure and hand over. After you accept the quote, installation is usually planned within about a week.

We can maintain the system and change users or doors after handover, when you want that. On working days you hear from us within 24 hours.

Frequently asked questions about access control for businesses

What is the difference between access control and a video intercom?
Access control decides who may open a door or gate, for example with a card, tag or code. A video intercom is for visitors. They call, you see who is there, and you can unlock the door. The two usually work together.
Can a card reader be powered over the network?
Often, yes. Readers, intercoms and cameras then get data and power over one network cable (PoE). UTPinfra installs that cabling, including the patch cabinet.
Does this work with UniFi Access?
Yes. UTPinfra is an official UniFi / Ubiquiti supplier. We use UniFi Access when doors, readers and users should be managed in the same place as the network. If another system fits the building better, we say so.
Who is this for?
SMEs, larger organisations, and contractors or installers who want to subcontract the work. Not for consumers or a home office.
Do you maintain the system after installation?
Yes. After handover we can keep maintaining users, doors and the equipment. On working days we reply within 24 hours.
